This is our team. Our skeleton. They show up day in and day out to give the Santa Cruz community a place of refuge, relaxation, and a sense of belonging. Highly recommend coming to a place where you are the center of attention of three highly considerate and attentive individuals. That’s the reason we’re here: to make sure you know we can’t do it without you.
Barbering is a timeless art. Those who wish to master it are put through a rigorous curriculum and are evaluated every step of the way. There’s no faking this stuff. Each of these barbers have been cutting hair for years and now possess an eye for perfection - and it shows in every detail. Right down to the temple massage you get after the hairs have been cut.
First and foremost, Lesly Carroll. She’s the gal in charge — always a step ahead. She’s consistently making sure you’re taken care of, all the time. If not busy getting you checked in, getting you a drink, or making the shop look spotless; she’s ordering next months equipment so we can all come to the shop and do what we do. She’s really our backbone.
There’s Colette Menezes, who gives every haircut her full and undivided attention. Having a background with women’s hair and salons, she has been transferring her expertise to shorter hair. She’s all ears, all the time — you are her priority 100% of the time.
Then we have Mickey Guerrero. Truly a homie to all. Hands of a dentist (In case of misunderstanding, he has stable hands). Whatever it is you want for your hair, he’ll get it there. All with a smile and a calm conversation. With Mickey, you really are the most important part of his day.
And last but not least, Elias Campbell. He’s the guy who started all this. With an extensive background in cutting hair and curating style beginning in San Francisco, he’s leading the charge of the bond between Waves and Fades and the Santa Cruz community. An instant friend, Elias aims to keep Waves and Fades Community Made.
